Cat attacked

My cat was attacked by a dog last evening.His face on one side was swollen and  one eye lid was shut.
I kept him warm and applied warm compressors to the side that was swollen.Today the swelling has gone down considerably  and the eye is open.He is eating soft food.I am concerned about him ,wondering if his jaw is fractured ?
I do plan on bringing him to a vet.But I was wondering what you think?

Wow, I am hoping kitty's jaw isn't fractured. Was it a stray dog or was it someone's dog who attacked him? Did your cat get into the dog's backyard? Have you taken your cat to the vet yet? I hope you have an appointment by now.

If this were MY cat and was in this kind of condition.....I wouldn't wait.  I don't understand why you're waiting.  The poster above that mentioned the dog's owner should pay is right!!  That dog should have been leashed, it's the laws in many states.

Do you know who owned the dog? The dog owner should pay for your vet bill.
