Cat in heat rant (no lectures please)

I have two girl cats and I already KNOW I need to get them spayed. They are only a year old and have only had two heat cycles. When my husband and I got them I was working but now he is the only one working so it's very difficult to set back $100 to spay both of them. Anyway when Sissy is in heat it's not so bad. It's pretty mild and she spends a lot of it laying by herself out of the way. Hootie though is freaking relentless! Meowing constantly, presenting herself, up on counters and tables. She rarely ever takes a break and her heat lasts like 7 days too! The poor thing goes so hard her little head gets hot. I try to do what I can to calm her down and give her affection but it's like she's possessed.  Sometimes if I play with her she'll burn up her energy and lay down but mostly she's non-stop. They both seem to go a few months between heat cycles so I'm really going to try my hardest to get them fixed before the next one.

I did a quick search and found Humane Societies in your area and they do the low cost spays!

Give them a call and let us know how it goes.

Seriously, there are low-cost spay programs out there! Call around and do some legwork. You & your cats will be more comfortable.

You should try calling your local ASPCA.  They do spaying at huge discounted prices.

lol there is no question. I just wanted to vent. I know I need to get them spayed and it will be done at some point. They are indoor only cats but still.

sorry I don't understand what your question is???
there is nothing other than spaying that will stop a heat cycle or calm a cat down I'm afraid.
