All 5 cats have colds . . .

My poor babies all have severe head colds.  The vet put them on amoxicilin to help to prevent a secondary infection.  But, I'm a worried mama!  My tiniest kitten is having the worst trouble.  She is coughing badly and having a struggle . . .we are taking her back to the vet tomorrow.  I'm fearful it could be moving to her chest!

What else can I do to help them with a cold?  Anything this mama can do - I'll do!  After losing Daisy last year, I do not want to lose another one of our babies!

(((HUGS)))

It's good seeing all the familiar names and others too!

good to see everything is okay. If they are still Sneezing in a week or two take them to the vets. (I was told to by my vet) my kitten is still kinda geting over cat flu she has manky eyes, but the vet said if she gets a runny nose and starts sneezing take her straight back and they will put her on Antibiotics.

So just in case.... But things are looking good.... :)
Wooohooo. But all 5 being ill.. woah, I thought It was bad mine being born with Cat flu, but it never got passed on to the others.

Hey there!  Nice to see you!  Glad to see everyone is feeling a little better.  How scary to have ALL the cats sick at once!

Hugs to you and your clan :)

They are all still sneezing a little bit but no coughing now.  They are all eating and drinking plenty of water.  So, it appears we might be getting out of this with all cats getting better.  I was worried to say the least!

I just wanted to update everyone!

My new born kittens had cat flu, One was born with it, Basically she stopped eating we were told to give her water untill we coulld get her to the vets (as it was a weekend) and if we took her in a day later she would have died.. They rehydrated her and gave her powderedd milk now she is currrently biting her sisters ears. LOL....
But she was seriously ill. We took her to the vets sooner and he wanted her to fight it off... and gave her eye drops... But obv she didnt. But they gave all 4 kittens antibiotics just incase even though2 had it but the other one didnt get as bad as my poor sooty. The vets will sort her out Dont worry. :) They might wanna keep your kitty under obvservation and see how she does. Hopefully they wont do what they was gonna do with my sooty if she didnt get better in the day she was kept in. They said they was gonna put her down :( But she got better.
Just explain whats going on and you're 95% sure its cat flu! and she's stopped eating and they will sort her out

I'm so sorry your babies aren't well, we feel so helpless when they are hurting.
You could try some Saline nose drops to help the breathing...(.only straight saline) and a very small drop. Also bring them into the bathroom with you and run some hot water into the tub or shower to get the room nice and steamy...help to steam their chests up a bit, I would hope these would bring some comfort.
I really don't understand the reasoning behind the antibiotics unless there was a bacterial infection already present??....but than I'm not a Vet either. Let us know how the tiny one makes out tomorrow..I wish her the very best of love and luck.
