Help, my cat is scared & behaving strange

Last night, my partner and I came home to find my 1 and a half year old cat in the hallway acting normal. We took her to our bedroom and she kept looking at the wall and curtains like she was terrified. My partner was sitting in front of her, so she stood up on her hind legs to look over his knees to the same wall/curtains. Her pupils dilated and we could not distract her with treats, food etc. She managed to claw the door open and ran out of the room. We've checked the room up and down for anything that may have frightened her but everything is normal =/

We always sleep with her, so my partner ended up looking for her about an hour after she had escaped from the room. He found her and brought her back to the room then switched off the lights. 15minutes later, we could hear her scrambling underneath the bed, so my partner shone a torch to see whats going on. She clawed his back to get leverage onto the bed and scrambled to the window. While doing this, my partner turned on the light to find that she had pooped all around the room while she was running :( This is very unusual for her. We took her to the lounge and she ran hysterically around there in circles, again pooping everywhere. Same thing in the kitchen. We noticed while she's running in circles, not only was she pooping everywhere, but she was not gripping the carpet. She was basically skidding everywhere and running in circles to find somewhere to hide. We had to leave her in the lounge lastnight, because she seemed ok later on, but showing her our bedroom made her heartbeat faster and again, she focussed on the same wall with her pupils enlarging.

Today, she seems back to normal. Ive cleaned out the room and she's fine in the bedroom again. However, she has diarrhea which is unusual :(

Could you please tell me what may possibly be wrong with her. We were not home from 7.30am yesterday til 8.30pm in the evening. When we left, she was sad and watching us leave on the cab from the lounge windowsill. The boys at home state, that she's been absolutely fine all day. Yesterday it rained most of the day. These are the only things I can add to this.

Thank you in advance. Any information would be much appreciated.

Hi and thank you for your post. My partner and I took her to the vet 3 days ago. She had pooped under the bed previously and I sprayed where she pooped with animal repellent. My vet told me that she reacted to this badly, so we've scrubbed the carpet out and have blocked the bed with a board so she cant get under the bed anymore. She is absolutely fine now. Im so happy.

Thank you again. Your response is pretty much accurate :)

This is a cat that needs to go to the vet ASAP.  If you see this message, please let me know if there has been any change, if you have taken her to the vet and if so, what you were told.

The first thing that comes to mind is that she got into some kind of toxin.  Now, sometimes that kind of thing can resolve itself, depending on the toxic substance involved, it's possible for it to work out of her system without any lasting ill effects.  By now, if she's ok and you haven't gotten her to vet yet then she's probably fine.  But either way, you should get her checked out.  If this were a person that you were describing I would think of a methamphetamine reaction.  It really does sound like she might have gotten into something.

Please let us know if you have any concerns or questions regarding this or anything else.
