Hurt Kitten :(

My kitten fell off the back of the couch and I'm not sure what exactly happened to her. She can move all her limbs, responds to pain in her tail, eyes react to light, but her neck swivels if she tries to walk. I think her neck might be broken, it's to late at night to go to the vet so I was wondering what I can do while I wait for morning to bring her into the vet. She's mewing/purring and tries to "back away" from the brace I put on her neck. How can I help her not to suffer?

Hi, I hope that your kitten is okay and she's seen a vet by now.  Not sure if you know this, but when you suspect any kind of injury to the neck animal/people, you don't move them at all....esp. the neck.  There's a chance that you can paralyze them, if you do.

I'm in California, so I hope by now you've gotten your kitten in to the Vet if you're in another part of the US.  It's only 5:30 am here.  You can always take your kitten to an Animal Emergency Hospital when your Vet closes.  If you call your Vet's Office, they will have instructions where to take your hurt kitten.  Let us know how she is doing.
