I am not 100% sure...

I am not 100% sure on this, but I have a 6 month old Kitten and I think she might be pregnant... but the only sign is a fat tummy... considering 6 months ago she was on Deaths door... and was skinny this morning... I swear.
Anyways, she has NEVER been outside EVER cause she hasnt had her jab thingy's and she is too younng in my eyes. AND has showed NO SIGNS AT ALL of being in Heat... AT ALL... now if she is pregnant I dont know how, because its either her Brother?? Or another male Cat we have and those two DONT GET ON AT ALL.... they have been in many fights. Now we cant get the others spayed for a few weeks.??
She doesnt have pink or bigger nipples they look like the nipples of a male cat (sorry)... they havent changed at all... and I know they change aprox 3 weeks after the cat has been impregnanted...

from the rubbish picture I have, what do you think? (There is a picture of her this morning on my profile! :) she is Skinny in this one?)

If she is, we will get Vet assistance when she is due for birth... Because I know it can cause serious complications, but Books I have read have said the best time for their first litter is 21 weeks...???

Thanks.

Also, the mum of these kittens we believe is also pregnant... and they kinda look the same.. (But we wanted her to have one more litter before she was spayed... ::))

The apendix thing was a Joke from my mum... But I toook it seriously because I wanted her to get better. And well if she has kittens it can break her pelvis now! So thats teh best way to put it!

but GUESS WHAT!

Woke up this morning and she went to the toilet. I think a slight wee but defo a poo cause of her lactose... But she is going back to the vets today anyways just incase she didnt express herself... But I think she is a strong little splash! :)

My hopes are still there, but I am still not getting them up up!

THANK YOU EVERYONE I LOVE YOU GUYS!

CJ, it's hard to say just how damaged her nerves are.  The Vet probably doesn't know the extent of the damage.  You're having her appendix taken out?  What makes you think she is infertile?  That would be a good thing.  She may have a shot at coming through this but I think she will be one lucky kitty if she does.

Just keep doing exactly what the Vet tells you to do...I guess all you can do is wait and hope and pray. I will be praying for you and your kitty, CJ

well, she is on lactose. Its the nerves in around her bladdder and bowel that are damaged.. BUT the vet said she has seen alot worse and they have pulled through...
I saw them express her bladder. I am not allowed to do it. Vets only, but twice a day she has to be done as the mediction they would have given us for her bladderr doesnt get made anymore...
IT was the worst thing ive seen, she cried... I cried! I am hoping she can wee sooon :)
She is in the vets all day tomorrow :( but shes okay. She is asleep in her litter tray right noww!! She has been trying to go to the loo but cant!
She is walking,, which they didnt expect.
She is also infertile...

I am hoping she pulls through, but I dont have my hopes up! :)

I am just about to upload pics of her :)

There was a story I read about a cat that had the same problem as Splash.  She got upset and scratched at the cage one night and caused her to use the bathroom.
Hoping the best for Splash!

Okay, just realised the apendix thing was my mum taking the mick outta me!

But the vet rang me to ask how she is. But I am at work...
BUT the vets are hopeful... its her nervous system that is damaged and stopping her from going to the loo.. She is on Laxatives tomorrow to help her go to the toilet. She is at home, I take her back to the vets after work for a wee.

They have seen kittens/cats in a much worse state who have pulled through.. so they are hopefull... not a yes, not a no but a maybe... just keep praying for us! :)

They are suprised she is walking around sometimes. They are happy she is moving and not laying their... its a good sign :)

I am happppppy, but still not getting my hopes up up!

Thank you to everyone!

She fell asleep in her box! Hahah. I got a picture I will upload when I get home!! I have kinda prepared myself for the worst just incase! I have soo many animals, Ive become attached, they are part of the family! I even cried when I found out my African land snails died! Even though I did forget to feed them for like 2 weeks. cause I didnt like them! LOL! There are snails in the garden, dont need to be left in a tank!!! Even if they grow big!! Dont care!!!!!
My animals get a daily run round (Except the turtles) so they aint in cages 24/7. Well my ill lizard cant come out yet...
But she gets treats! She was missing for 5 months, Found her alive but seriously ill!! But she is pulling through! :)

But anyways... Back to splashy!

So the bladder and bowels thing is common?? And they can move back? I know the fracture will heal... just her bowels and bladder are the main problem, and can kill her!! She has 6 weeks to turn around!

I have done a lot of google searching on this subject, and it seems to be a very common problem.  It looks like if you give it time and remind Splash how much love you have for her she could be fine.  Sometimes when animals are in pain they let us know by not using the box.

Yeah she had medication, Its erm like liquidyy stuff you put in her food!... Once a day!! And it last 24 hrs! So she has it in her dinner.

I am guessing, they really wouldnt have sent her home and give her 6 weeks if it wasnt going to go back to normal right?? They would have just put her to sleepies right there and then??

Her spine is fine... The fracture will probably heal because its a common car accident injury. And just a fracture, her bowels and bladder are their main concern... But like I said, they wouldnt have sent her home if they didnt have hope right??

She is trying to go to the loo, but because they are so out of place she cant go!

She has gone back to the vets today for them to help her go to the loo, she is there now!

She is having lots of fusses because we can open her cage to stroke her, she just cant come out, As long as I can give her fusses im okay.... because I didnt wanna leave her just there lonely! Her brother layed next to her alll night... he wouldnt leave her.

But its her bladder and bowel they are sooo concerned about. But they really wouldnt have given her 6 weeks and sent her home if they didnt think they were going to move back??

Thank you so much!!

I know time spent wishing is time wasted! But I dont care!! haha, As long as she gets better, i'll waste all the time in the world wishing!!

Thank you

Oh honey, I wish  I could give you all sorts of positive answers and I'm sure the Vet does too....its all so much just a wait and see with that type of injury. She may recover and so may her bowels and bladder!! there is always a chance. But dear with a spinal injury I think those chances could be very slim.
She cannot be left without peeing for more than a day....you know that don't you? the Vet must have explained to bring her back in and they will need to put a catheter in to drain her pee.....if this isn't done daily she will be in tremendous pain and its also life threatening..so please be sure to take her to the Vet again if she cannot pee on her own...
As far as her bowels she can go a few days (2-3) without. You can try to stimulate her by gently wiping her anal area with a warm cloth (similar to what a mother cat would do when licking her kittens)...this stimulates the urge to go, try that and see if it works(often)
Otherwise if 2-3 days go by without a bowel movement she again will need to see a Vet for an enema.
the poor little girl...

You ARE giving her PAIN medications right??????

I hope you see a huge improvement and real soon for her sake, I know you love her dear and it hurts to watch, please tell me she isn't suffering.

hugs to you and Splash♥

Well I found out from my mum how they help her go to the loo (Through a tube)... and that if they dont sort themselves out she might never be able to go by herself again... thats why she might need to be put down!!!

Please please please tell me that they can move back with hope!!

PLEASE!

Will her bowels and bladder go back by themselves do you think?? Because thats their main concern?? But they wouldnt have sent her home if they didnt have hope right??

she is trying to go to the loo but cant!!

is there a chance her bladder and bowels will go back??

She keeps trying to move!! I keep giving her fusses!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Its her bladder and bowels that are outta place... I can open it and give her fusses. She is looking at me all sad!! she is moving around and I can put her medication in her food as its liquid medication...
so their main concern is her bladder and bowel. If she doesnt go to the loo she has to go back tomorrow for them to do it!! It's a common car accident!! she is hopping around now!! I dont like her being in their.. but like the vet said it would be more cruel to have her out normally than in a cage. 6 weeks will fly by. But her moving is a good sign right??

She is trying to go to the loo now but she cant! She is a little fighter, I have never cried so much!!

Her name is Splash, and her breeder is Splosh! haha... we wanted a drip and drop! but I wont put her through that stress now! She is gonna get done when she has recovered! Because she WILL recover!

Thanks for yor site, it will help with their 3 monthly de worming,  2 of them dont eat cat food! LOL.

Its a good sign she's moving, and still playful whilst having belly rubs, right?

Ohhhh gosh I pray it isn't a fractured pelvis man that can be so very painful for the poor little baby, don't worry about the cage for a few weeks hon, that will be for her benefit and she'll understand just visit her often and give her lots of hugs.
I hope the pills are PAIN medications?
I'm sending you a link with wonderful photos on exactly how to pill a cat, really its simple once you get the hang of it...
hugs to kitty(whats her name?)

My reptiles and things dont actually cost alot which is good! You can bulk buy snake food (So we get a year supply for like £2) Lizards (£2 every 2 weeks) Frogs £2 a month Turtles £2 a week, Axolotl £1 a month, so thats alright...

And well from what my mum told me, She has fractured her Pelvis, but she said something about it being out of place, Or its shattered or something, she has to be in a cage for 6 weeks (A MASSIVE Dog one) not allowed out at all which is going to kill me. They dont belong in cages, cant be near the other cats... and if she hasnt healed in 6 weeks, we have the option  of putting her down, or paying roughly £10,000 for vet bills, because we havent been on the insurance long enough for it to cover her. So John (My other half) said if she isnt bettter and showing no signs of her getting better in 6 weeks she will be put down for her benefit because it isnt fair to have her sufffer which I understand. So my Sploshyy has lost his breeding partner! :(. But I am hoping she will get better!

How do I give a cat Pain medication????

Good for you Cassie, I know how much your pets mean to you. Having so many is an expensive undertaking, it costs alot to care for them....I'm so glad you found a Vet who will spay/neuter for a reasonable price....
Hows the one with the leg problem this a.m.??

She was meant to be inside, She got out when my sister went out to play. Because she doesnt like being indoors. She wants to be an outdoor cat.

We are getting them spayed and Neutured. As we have the vet bill for this sorted out.... And we found a a specialist who spays and neutures for about £30, which is £100 cheaper than the vets we go to..So they are booked in for 2 weeks time.

Ya know, if you kept your cats inside and got them spay/neutered, your vet bills would probably be a lot less than they are now.
