Lymphoplasmaciticrhinitis

Hello,
I am trying to see if there is any veterinarian out there who knows anything about lymphoplasmaciticrhinitis?  I hope I spelled that correctly. My cat has a chronic inflammation of the sinus cavity and has been going on for several years. She is constantly full of green discharge. It is never clear or bloody. I am not even sure how she got it. I also had a Red Heeler dog who had the same issue but she has since passed. I have been told to just give her a type of steroid but was wondering if there was any way to get rid of it permanently or what is the best thing to do to give her some relief?  Thank you for any input.

Hello.
I'm sorry about your kitty's condition.  It sounds miserable.

I want to say as a sidenote that I am slaytheday.  You may see ZodiacQueen's wonderful emblem as I see but it is in error.  My emblem is the beautiful face of Alberta Hunter. The forum's format has been changed and strange things happen.

Now, back to your kitty.  I believe the condition that you're looking for is Feline Lymphoplasmacytic Rhinitis.  I found some information on it from Ixquick, the search engine that I use, but you can try another if you prefer.  Our forum isn't set up to recommend specific vets.  However you may gather information about your kitty's condition that may help you inquire from vets near your home regarding specialists in this area which can encompass allergies, respiratory diseases, physical injuries of the nose/ sinuses, etc.

That being said, vetspecialistsofrochester.com has a comprehensive and fairly easily understood section on nasal disease.

Since you're interested in New Hampshire specialists search the web for New Hampshire Feline Veterinary Specialists or something like that if you wish.  Or just start calling vets in your area and ask the receptionist if their practice has a feline vet who specializes in kitty respiratory/nasal chronic conditions.

I hope this helps.  I also want to make sure you know to get your kitty vaccinations whenever they're due, although with this kitty sk the vet if they reccommend it since it's so sick.

Blessings,
  Slaytheday
