Ive been watching him he is babying it so far it hasnt broke open i think we r in the clear for that
Thanks everyone :)
You really do need to keep him from excessively licking it. Cat tongues are very rough and porous. The roughness can cause the incision to break open and the porousness makes his tongue a great home for all kinds of bacteria that can cause infection.
If cats don't stop licking an e. collar is something you can always try.
Heya;
For minor surgery like this, I'd guess the vet used surgical adhesive rather than stitches.
To echo the answers, which you have already received, none of my girls (9 in all) have come home with either pain meds or antibiotics.
Watch careful for any signs of redness, swelling or changes in appetite or box habits.
Otherwise, kitty will be happier and healthier in the long run.
Take care - Pip
I am not 100% sure but mine didnt at all....
Idont think!

He was eating and drinking as soon as he got home he was so hungry. He is my picky guy so has to be fresh food every 5 hours or he wont eat it lol.
So far he looks good i seen a lil swelling but its hard to tell with him. His stuff was really big before they did anything. he still lays around a lot but i think he is doing better.
haven't got him to stop licking but he seems to be doing good with it who am i to tell him he can't lick him self. One other question for you guy's/Gal's
Do males have stitches? I didn't see any but where they cut is closed and healing well.
He used the cat box shortly after we got home.
Thanks everyone :) next week it's his son turn :(
My cat did bleed a bit when he came home, which scared me and did make me cry. So i took him back and they said its normal, but if it still still bleeding (It was only drops of blood but he is my baby) the next day take him back...
But he was fine! bribed him with Chicken... Cat treats and toys to stop him from licking too much... and by him eating some proper chicken I knew he defo ate then as well.

Hi, I agree w/ Cassandra and Opus that cats don't usually come home w/ antibiotics or pain meds. Like they said, they usually tell ya to look for redness, swelling and pus and to make sure they're eating.
How is your son today? I bet he's doing better!!
My cat never had anything, we were just told to make sure he is okay, drinks eats and doesnt go out for a few days - 2 weeks to make sure he doesnt get an infection. :)

no shouldn't need those either, unless you see some sign of infection ie: excessive licking, reddness or discharge.
Don't attempt to give him anything OTC....this can be fatal.
Call the Vet in the a.m. if you think he's in pain, but I think he'll be fine.
best to you both, keep us updated...♥
