Sorry to hear about this, I'd just sent you a note.

How many can I lose...? That's a question I have asked myself many times. I suppose the answer is simply...as many as you can't save.

Remember, the price we pay for their loving companionship is their shorter life spans. This is the trade off (a pact or bargain, if you will).

In truth, no one ever really dies. We are all a conglomeration of memories, made from our time past shared together. As long as the memory lives...no one truly dies.

she's been struggling to get up to drink and use the pan. She cant walk well....I watch her stumble about and just lay there. Something makes me think she wont make it...But..I'm preparing myself and we're with her nearly all day and night. She knows shes our world.....I dont think...she'll last the week, but at least she'll finally get some rest and be with shanks...I'll keep you posted. I'm still giving her medicine and milk...i cant give up..

I am sooo sorry you're going through this-many of us on this forum has gone through this too many times to count, and each time does NOT get any easier.  I would try to keep Penny nice and comfy, clean her up with a wet washcloth, and, if you have trouble force feeding her, then at least give her fluids so she doesn't dehydrate.  I think keeping her well hydrated is more important right now than her eating.  Have you tried lifting the scruff of the neck up to see if the skin stays up?  That's a good way to check cats are dehydrated-if they are the skin will remain up, instead of "snapping" back into place.  The scruff of the neck is where the mother cat carries their kittens, just in case you weren't sure.

Have some faith.  By the way, Penny is a sexy kitty-I love black and white kitties.

Give her cat vitamins. Sounds like a good idea at this point, and get her colostrom (a milk product), Chinese mushroom extracts, and plant-based extracts (purple coneflower). These are all to boost her system a little. She probably is very tired.

Don't blame the Gods my friend. I don't want to sound harsh, but can you imagine if ALL animals were to live forever? Everything dies. We die; our beloved pets must die either of natural causes or an incurable illness. It's life, not you or the Gods. It's hard to lose something you love so much. I've lost pets too; but think that Sage and Luff still need mom, and they are still there to give you love and offer companionship. Try to stay positive and keep supporting penn.

Keep us updated.

She dosnt want her medicine and food today..but i forced it to her. Her mouths dirty and poos all stuck in her behind area fur. She's laying there quietly and watching me or laying her head down and staying wide eyed. Sage and luff dont understanmd this, they try to clean her and love her but they dont understand why she wont play.

This is tearing me up inside...She is indeed stressing me out...but i'm trying to remain normal towards her...Shes....not even penny anymore...Why is all this happening to me?

What did i honestly do to **** off the gods ><

She is skin and bones? She probably isn't sleepy. She probably jus wants to lay there because she feel tired. Remember, leukemia may be acting up today more than ever and she just is tired and feels bad today.  If you have bee feeding her then really, all you can do at this point is pet her, give her lots of kisses and tell her mommy loves her very much. She'll find comfort in your petting.  She is weak because her defenses are down, and her immune system is basically down.  I'm so sorry to hear this my friend. I got the below from Wikipedia. Read and see if you can do any of these things.

Treatment Options

Lymphocyte T-Cell Immune Modulator is intended as an aid in the treatment of cats infected with feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and/or feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and the associated symptoms of lymphocytopenia, opportunistic infection, anemia, granulocytopenia, or thrombocytopenia. The absence of any observed adverse events in several animal species, suggests that the product has a very low toxicity profile.

Lymphocyte T-Cell Immune Modulator is a potent regulator of CD-4 lymphocyte production and function.[6] It has been shown to increase lymphocyte numbers and Interleukin 2 production in animals.[7]

Lymphocyte T-Cell Immune Modulator is a single chain polypeptide. It is a strongly cationic glycoprotein, and is purified with cation exchange resin. Purification of protein from bovine-derived stromal cell supernatants produces a substantially homogeneous factor, free of extraneous materials. The bovine protein is homologous with other mammalian species and is a homogeneous 50 kDa glycoprotein with an isoelectric point of 6.5. The protein is prepared in a lyophilized 1 microgram dose. Reconstitution in sterile diluent produces a solution for subcutaneous injection.[8]

The cat should receive as much immune-system support as possible. Nutritional supplements that may support the cat's immune system include: colostrom (a milk product), Chinese mushroom extracts, plant-based extracts (purple coneflower, for example), and cat vitamins.[citation needed]

A FeLV-positive cat may also have persistent gingivitis and other dental problems (persistent gingivitis is a prime symptom of FeLV and FIV).

The use of interferon is recommended for use against FeLV. Interferon alpha is available in the United States. Interferon-ω (omega) is sold in Europe at least under the name Virbagen Omega and manufactured by Virbac. When used in treatment of cats infected with FeLV in non-terminal clinical stages (over the age of 9 weeks) there have been substantial improvement in mortality rates; in non-anaemic cats, mortality rate of 50% was reduced by approximately 20% following treatment.[citation needed]

The drug is quite expensive dependent on body-weight, but will be covered by most pet insurers.

The use of inteferons are not recommended for cats currently using steroids for symptomatic treatment. A 2 week withdrawal period is recommended before starting treatment, and steroids should ideally not be used at any point after the treatment, as they will effectively reverse the efficacy of the drug (inteferon-ω simulates natural leukocyte response, and steroids will greatly hamper this).

For American pet owners, one way to deal with leukemia or anemia associated with FeLV is blood transfusions. It is also recommended that the cat undergo a battery of tests such as a bone marrow aspiration, abdominal ultrasound, chest x-ray, or thoractic endoscopy. With the results from these, the disease's effects may be seen on the viscera and any cancerous tumours arising from the disease may be taken care of. Following transfusion, it is important to keep the cat on antibiotics and steroids.
