I can tell you've been doing your reading about black cats and tyrosine...you are so right..thats why his fur is turning orange...however don't just go adding tyrosine to his diet..that could upset a whole whack of other essential nutrients such as copper.

what the problem is is lack of a good protein in his diet(meat is high in tyrosine)...whiskas IS NOT A GOOD DIET....this problem will correct itself real quick by just feeding him some canned food that has MEAT(chicken, turkey, beef, etc)  listed as the first ingredient NOT MEAT BY-PRODUCTS...this is very important, thats why he is hungry all the time...cats are carnivores and need a good source of real meat and whiskas sure isn't it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
takes abt 3-4weeks after a change in diet and you will begin to see a big difference in his color, but an immediate change in his appetite...he is getting grouchy b/c he is essentially 'starving' for real meat.

good luck and keep us posted♥

It might be time for a vet to do a diagnostic workup.
