female cats more local
Is it normal for male cats to wonder fair distances from home and females to stay in close vicinity. I did have a male cat but unfortunately we learned he had been killed by a car and this was about a mile from home. Our 4 females only seem to go into the back garden and occassionaly a small distance into the woods behind our house. If I call them, they are never far away and just leap over the back fence. I assume male cats travel further looking for females on heat or something and the females just wait for them to turn up with the flowers and chocs?
