heavy breathing

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!
My cat was extremely energetic and playful. Recently he wouldnt play, he would hide in places, and sleep allll day, he looks extremely depressed and lazy, so I checked with my vet who said he had fever (104) , he gave him two injections a day before, and said he will be fine. Although he has gotten better with eating his food, he breathes really heavy sometimes and is still not back to normal. Im extremely worried :'(

Sometimes it takes awhile for kitties to bounce back.

How old is your boy, has he had other health problems?

My best wishes for him getting better.

Hi Caramel,

It is my opinion only...but I feel you should take him back so the vet can take some chest x-rays.

If he is breathing heavy, especially with open mouth--this is an emergency.

My cat has asthma, and she will sometimes cough with her head stretched out. It looks like she is trying to throe up a hair ball, but nothing is expelled. This was diagnosed by a chest x-ray and she is now on an Aero-Cat inhaler with Flovent.

Please see your vet, your cat should not be heavy breathing .

Keep us posted,
CML
