I thought peroxide was safe for animals and have found out it is not. Please do some research on peroxide before using it on your cat.
that' s the same thing as clavimox that they give to cats and dogs every day.
I just wanted to thank you for your suggestions on how much medication to give a cat. My cat had a sinus infection. Coincidentally, my son was also being treated for a sinus infection. I divided up the powder from a 500 mg capsule, shooting for 20 mg doses. My cat is 17 pounds so, thanks to your suggestion of 1-2 mg per pound, I thought that was a good dosage. He was quite a bit better the next day, but I gave it to him for five days. It's been another five days and he's had no more symptoms.
I just wanted to tell everyone that my cat is happy and healthy, now! His nose has completely stopped running. I took the powder out of a 500mg capsule of Ampicillin (coincidentally, my son was being treated for a sinus infection, too) and divided it into five parts. Then, I took one part and divided it into five parts. That gave me doses of about 20 mg. My cat is 17 pounds. I found that the best way to give it to him was to add it to a tiny amount of whole milk. He took it much, much easier than the antibiotics the vet used to give him, when he had some episodes of UTIs. It wasn't 100% accurate, but neither is trying to give a cat a dropper full of the liquid the vets give.
absolutely,A stray came around my house and was limping with a huge infection on the leg from fighting and I gave the cat some antibiotics I had for a tooth abcess.Cleared it up in 5 days! Give a little from the capsule twice a day, very little. Each human capsule should last 2 days with a cat. google the antibiotics you have and put it in like this. CLindimycin for cats.see if there are any sites of vets who use your particular meds
I appreciate your concern, but I know arithmetic and how to measure things, and I know what the usual dose is that vets prescribe. I took the powder out of a capsule, which I knew the strength of.
I've had as many as nine cats at a time, almost all rescues that I couldn't find another home for. Most were tiny kittens who had been abandoned somewhere, where they would have starved or been hit by cars. The one who is currently half on my lap, half on my computer, purring loudly, was found in a McDonald's parking lot, about 8 weeks old, half starved and scared half to death. Rather than take them to the only shelter here, knowing they would most likely be euthanized, I keep them and do the best I can. If I can't treat a problem, myself, I take them to the vet.
