im sooooo depressed. Kitty is recovering from surgery for removal of stones in bladder. when will she get better ?
thankyou for your help, i can probably borrow money to get him to the vet. thankyou.
blood could indicated infection but not always. there can be crystals but no infection present or there could be BOTH.
Is the Hills diet dry or canned? dry foods no matter how good or not good of a brand can lead to crystal formation b/c cats do not drink enough water to compensate for the dehydrated food.....remember a cats natural diet are mice and birds....along with the body fluids.
by eating a dry food diet and lack of moisture crystals soon form leading to a condition called FLUTD. MALE CATS ARE ESPECIALLY PRONE TO THIS....these crystals are sharp and scrape the urethra as they pass thru. this conditon is very painful and it can also be fatal by a build up and a blockage occurring.
I would strong suggested you trying very hard to get this kitty to a Vet for a urinalysis. this is the only way to know.....many clinics will do a payment plan also read the first post at the top of this forum on ways to help with Vet bills. A Vet check and urinalysis will cost you well under $100.
If it is dry food you are feeding make a change ASAP to cans, kitty really needs this added moisture and be very sure clean fresh water is avail. to encourage drinking. even add a little more water in with the canned food to begin with.
but please I beg you for this kitties sake to find away to afford a Vet. good luck♥
