After spaying my 6 month old kitten she is refusing to eat. She was spayed Tuesday and brought home Wednesday. She ate normal on Wednesday (Im guessing because she was still drugged with pain medicine) but has since had ZERO interest in food or water. I took her to the clinic she was spayed at the they gave her fluids for being dehydrated and an injection of anti-nausea stuff (she threw up Thursday and today). She still isn't eating though. She walks to the food, sniffs or licks it and leaves. She wont eat treats or tuna.. It's just so weird, she used to devour her food and treats but now she wont even touch them. I'm really worried about her.I thought spaying her was the right thing to do and now I feel like I made her sick or caused something really serious...

Hi Maddie,

I agree with all of opus88's comments. Spaying is the right thing to do,
but something has gone very wrong. Hepatic Lipidosis is life threatening.
Your kitten hasn't eaten or drunk anything for over 24 hours you say.
You need to take your dear kitten to an emergency vet ER immediately.
Don't delay. Find an emergency vet ER. Call them and describe what
is happening with your kitty. Time is of the essence. This is urgent !
I wish you well.  Your kitty is counting on you. I would suspect she is in
a lot of pain, maybe even an infection, Emergency Er's are terrific.
I once adopted a cat from an animal shelter a number of years ago.
On Easter, she began to bleed. I gathered her in a towel and my husband
and I took her to a 24 hour emergency vet. It turns out my year and a
half cat was pregnant and she had lost her baby. That ER vet saved her
life and I enjoyed her wonderful company for 14 years.    Eve

yes spaying is the right thing to do....however something has gone very wrong..this is NOT normal a kitty may feel puny for a day or two at the most afterwards but NOT this long besides they certainly can't go without food and water over the 24 hr mark or it gets very dangerous...a condition of organ failure starts to set in this is called Hepatic Lipidosis..
The vomiting is also NOT a good sign....did the clinic not give you instructions to bring her back if things didn't improve????
She is on the brink of critical condition, I will give you a link to read about complications of spaying...read it but I do suggest if you want to save her life you are going to have to get her in to an emergency ER for care asap.
I am so sorry abt this hon, please let us know okay....♥
