Zodiacqueen is right. Please take the cat to the vet. It may be a bladder infection.
I agree with Prettykitty, but I'd like to add that a bladder infection can also cause them to pee outside the litter box. If that's the case, you'll notice the cat squatting alot all over the house. You might also notice blood. I'd take the cat to the vet to be sure that he doesn't have an infection cuz you don't want to let that go it may go up into the kidneys.
Has Jerry been neutered? How old is he? Your pregnancy may be the major cause of this behavior. I'm surprised he hasn't pooed on the bed as lots of them do this when their owners get pregnant.
What happens is, when you get pregnant, hormonal changes happen in your body, and it may confuse your cat. It triggers stress, and it also triggers a sense of insecurity as your smell also changes without you realizing it. Bare with him, as your pregnancy advances, he may calm down. In the meantime, use some Nature's Miracle to eliminate the urine odor. As long as he keeps smeling amonia on the carpet, his own, he will think that it is OK to use that as the toilet. Get some Bitter Apple as I've heard it is good cat repellent, and spread some vinegar on the carpet, too. If it doesn't work and it gets worse, you're going to have to start thinking on getting another carpet.
