Neck pain

I had my decompression surgery on November 5th and still find I am having a lot of neck pain.  Just wondering what your experiences have been.  I know I am getting very impatient.  I just want my old life back, like I am sure we all do!!

SelmaS, I guess when you put it that way 4 months isn't that long.  Thank you for the advice.  I do need to be patient I guess.  I am in a bit of a funk lately because I just can't do things I once used to.  It is hard for me to wrap my head around that.   I really appreciate both of your responses.  nsalem656 I am 4 months, so I am "happy" to hear that is somewhat normal.  I will try the heating pads, baths, and ice for sure.

How many months post op are you? i'm six months and I'm still having pain in the neck. My recommendation use ice and heating packs as much as possible.

U may not get ur old life back, but u will get a diff life and u have to embrace that as u will have symptoms bcuz it can take up to 2 yrs for the nerves to heal...so, as u heal the nerves come back to life so old symptoms may reoccur....if u do too much u will suffer from that...I am 4 yrs post op this May and I can still over do it....

U r only 4 months post op......so u have a long road ahead of u...practice patience.

Heating pads or a warm soak in a tub can help  to loosen the tight muscles...do the exercises and heat again...no more then 15 mins at a time.....heat can hurt if left on too long.
