Hi All, in order to post a Prayer Thread for u, please post ur date here on this thread so we know u would like one.

Know it does not need to be surgery for Chiari, it can be nething.....and know we will keep u in our thoughts and prayers.

We also have tips for the hospital stay in the health pages....so do look there for helpful info.

Did  they  rule  out  EDS?.....

  I  never  heard  if  the  odontoid  being removed?.....will research  that  a bit.,,,

my surgery is actually on  November 3rd. I think all of those darn political ads had November 4th stuck in my head lol.
I've actually been having problems off and on for years, but it was the problem with my balance that finally made my Dr. want to do an MRI.
I asked about the Basilar invagination, and the Surgeon  wants to wait and see what effect the decompression has on that, because the other option is either a cervical collar, or another  surgery where they would go through my mouth to remove the odontoid. I hope I remembered that right. It's hard to keep it all straight sometimes.
But I will be having a dura patch, they said it is from pig. I am getting a bit nervous as it gets closer, but am leaving it all in God's hands now...
