That is a horrible feeling when there is something wrong with your tongue. I am so glad that it is starting to feel better already. I know I was reading somewhere about the baking soda helping with that burning feeling. I thought I had thrush a few months ago so I was doing some research on in my own. I think it may have been starting but with the brushing and gargling with all kinds of stuff I think I got it back on track. My tongue was hurting.
Glad you got into your docs so fast to take care of things.
Keep feeling better.

welll i was vomiting almost all lastnight, and this morning my hurt would pound i would cry,
so when 8 am came i was on the phone with my doctors office and insisted i be seen by someone ANYONE i didnt care, so i got into see dr.o at 840 am I was late its rainy day here and everyone on the road was freaked i guess, so i get there at 9 am and didnt get out til a bit after 130, he gave me juice said i have thrush but it is possible i have an allergic reaction to the flexeril, called in 2 scripts 1 for niactin (or what ever) YUCK thats grose, and one for some stomach upset meds, picked up scripts my husband MADE ME EAT LOL then i went for a nap slept til 5 ish and now here i am....
,,,,and i will say even with just 1 "treatment" of the grose stuff my mouth actually feels better.atleast its not so slimy- feel bad tho hubby missed another day of work, but i really needed to go to the doctor, there was no two ways about it,. it was either my doc or my hospital.....
Chardy- I dont have the white spots but i have this white film on my tongue and it burns, which is why we were thinking it wasnt thrush, but doc said with me being very vigilant on brushing and gargeling may not be giving it time to settle--- but it is defidently grose, slimy filmy white on tongue, and sometimes just a clear filmy bruning tongue,,,,dry roof of mouth, tongue would sometimes stick to the roof of mouth...GAG VOMIT GROSE----- I was on antibiotics 2 weeks prior to surgery, and then i had been hooked up to a bag while i was in the hospital,.
I am not sure if you have to have the white spots for it to be thrush. If you were taking an antibiotic it could have resulted in thrush.
Did you by any chance change your toothpaste? I know certain brands of toothpaste do some crazy things to my mouth.
You can try brushing your tongue with some baking soda that helps with the burning sometimes.
Hope you find out what is causing this.
