Pseudomeningocele in lumbar

Hi guys hope someone can advise.

Last year I had a second operation on tethering in lower lumbar area . 4 weeks after surgery I started getting servere lumbar pain and radial leg pain and bad heads which got worse while lying down. My neck hurts and vision gets blurry , each time it takes 2 days to ease off and I get 36 hours of relief although I always have line tinitus sound in head.

12 months on I still have these issues and have recently been back to NS , he says the MRI I has post op shows a pseudomeningocele but he wants another MRI but this time a upright MRI as most symptoms start while I'm standing or sitting.

What is the normal practise to fix this type of problem I'm hoping to get something done as I can't live with this pain much longer , most of the pain needs just don't work. I even had a epidural injection with steroids and some sort of anesetic to see if it helped ease the pain but made things worse.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Most with a pseudo have had them after the decompression not after being de-tethered....but both are the result of a CSF leak...and the fluid builds up into a squishy mess and causes a lot of pain.

Typically they look to see if they can patch the leak....sometimes a blood patch is done..but if this fails they may have to resort to surgery to help .
