Hi, in addition to the ideas given by CW, u can also try the Clinical trials in MD...we do have a link to an old trial, but that link will get u to the site where u can look at newer trials being done for Chiari.

This is an option if the hospital will not work with u, but I am sure that they will.....http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Chiari-Malformation/clinical-trials-are-recruiting-now-/show/706710

Just a couple of suggestions

Most major Hospitals have a Financial Aid Department. It's based on your household income but some will write off part or all of the Hospital portion of your bill. You normally have to go to billing or a hospital social worker and tell them you want to apply for any financial aid program they have available.

Second, years ago my wife had no insurance but unexpectedly ended up in the hospital. She still lived with her parents but had no insurance and was an adult. The hospital helped her apply for some sort of one-time help through medicaid. Her entire visit ended up being covered.

I'd check in the first option here because obviously the Hospital wants paid so they will try to get you signed up with any help that will accomplish that on their behalf. But you have to pursue it with their guidance.
