HI Kim...I think it should be 30...all depends on the lab and what their range is set at....did u get a copy of the report?
Ur dr will most likely rx a vit D supplement...in the meantime do try to get outside 15 mins everyday with out burning to help bring up ur levels naturally....ANd talk to ur pharmacist and let him/her know what meds u r on so he can best tell u when to take the supplements so u have a better absorption.

I ahve read online that 30 is the min but levels should be between 50 or 80, closer to 80 the better. That around 80 is when it helps with clacium absorption.
I have always been sun conscience, because I am fair skined. I wear sunscreen every day, lol. I also work inside, so I am not out in the sun very often. I will call my doctor today.
I am very upset, that they never did blood testing sooner. I have complained of muscle pain for years and never once did they do a blood test. Low vit D can also cause Adic Reflux, depression, weight gain, gait problems, and other porblems. In addition it can lead to cancer, heart conditions, etc.
I also have a stress fracture in my spine, could be low calcium.
I understand having fair skin, but sunscreen will keep what u n need from the sun too...if u r out for 15 mins with out the sunscreen it could help u .....
I think it is so weird how we have an epidemic of low vit D levels.....but, it is our lifestyles and our work habits.
Being upset is understandable....we wonder y these so called professionals do not do obvious tests to rule things out...crazy.
I hope u will find some relief with the vit D supplements.
