Hi and Welcome Back !!
Well, only u and ur Drs can answer that...I myself would not do nething where my head would get hit...plus I do have other related conditions that limit me and affect me when I do certain activities.
Listen to ur body, start slowly ....
How have u been doing over all?
I would do and start slow lilsten to your body. I do a few things but I do it slow. It can bother you if take it to fast and do it slow please. Check with your doctor to to make sure even his opninon
Not so good.
I'm graduating to a school where I am an absolute loner ( really I hang out in classrooms by myself ) i have classmates but I don't hang out with nobody in or out of school
I fear that my symptoms are slowly starting to come back. After the surgery I felt great minimum symptoms. But lately I've been severely stressed. My symptoms are somewhat bearable considering that I do not take any medication. ( I don't want to damage my liver as much and i wanna live a medication free life )
My stress comes from my huge struggle to lose weight with the condition, my HUMONGOUS responsibility to take care of my family where I help my mentally exhausted single mother and two special needed brothers. I'm not the oldest but I am the only one whom my mother can trust to help her.
Almost every time I try to do something to help myself whether its walking for an hour or having me time, I have to take care of my responsibilities first. I not complaining but I am saying that this attributes to my stress levels. Is there anything I can do ? What can kinds of physical therapy of exercise can I do? Swimming, running.
anything?
Each of our conditions are unique and we each have some quirk that is specific to our own case, so that decision really needs to be made between you and your doctor.
That being said, stress isn't good for us. Period. So anytime you can find even ten or fifteen minutes to de-stress is helpful. Things my doctor suggested to me include: gentle stretching (NOT above the head, no bending to touch my toes, and no bending my neck), slow to moderate walking for ten to fifteen minutes at a time, and swimming. He also recommended a step machine, treadmill, or exercise bike. All of these should be started slowly and you should listen to your body. If it hurts or you get dizzy - stop.
Also, music helps to de-stress, too :)
Bet wishes,
Annie
I am so sorry.....I know u have to handle more then at this time is capable with out stress, and stress will affect u....
Post op we all feel great at first and we all will have some symptoms return as we heal, and if we do too much or have stress it is possible to feel it more....
U may be doing too much....and not doing enuff...for urself...socially u need that as a release...try to make some friends and go out....that may be what u need to help u with ur weight loss too...
For exercise, walking is always good,.....I walk in my sisters pool in season...as u have the resistance....I found swimming itself to be too much for my neck, but I like to swim on my back, no large back strokes....just minimal fluttering of my arms...lol...but it is still movement...the other exercise type I was told is good is the recumbent bike as it is good for the back and shoulders as it is a chair with a back u sit in, as opposed to a small seat and leaning on handle bars...so if u have access to one of these it is good.
AS I said u have to listen to ur body and start slowly...kick boxing or running would be far too much for me....u will have to jog a little and add to see if it is something u can tolerate...always ask ur Drs and tell them when u have new symptoms return..
