Incision wet at night

For the last two weeks I’ve woken up in the middle of the night to my incision wet at night time? It feels like water, and it’s not sticky like sweat. Is this normal? It doesn’t do it during the day, but I’ve also noticed the back of my head/neck is becoming very sore too.

Hi it sounds like you may have a CSF leak.....try to get a sample on a tissue to see if it creates a Bullseye pattern when it dries....if so, it is definitely CSF...
How long since your surgery? You may want to contact your Dr.

Hi. Oh really? Even though it’s not consistent and it’s only at night? I had surgery again on January 13th after getting menegitis. The one nurse told me sometimes you have healthy leakage after surgery but i didn’t think it be weeks, maybe a day or two.
I had random healthy leakage into 9 months post op...I did use a topical antibiotic ointment to make sure no issues developed.
May I ask, do you wash your hair before you go to bed?
I do occasionally wash my hair at night, but I have cut back on how often I wash my hair since the surgery. Maybe twice a weeek tops.
That could be too much...are you using a baby shampoo? Washing your hair dries the area around the incision making it pull on the skin which can cause it to leak...try cutting back to once a week and use a very gentile shampoo.
