Hi...I am not sure if being a preemie is necessarily an issue...I was not a preemie...there is a reason that we have malformed skulls...and could have additional issues as well.
The issue that u were a preemie may have added to what the chiari has loaded on u....but many of us could have a mild form of scoliosis.....and with ur hip issue and the lack of the use of the brace u may have a bit more scoliosis than most chiarians.
I would suggest u also look to family history...u may find someone with chiari symptoms but may not have the dx.....

Hi,
My son was also a prem baby (27 weeks) He had overlapping toes. But that was the least of our worries back then.
The doctors have never said that there is a connection.. but then.. the doctors don't say very much. :(
I was considering the same thing, I have not had any of those test yet, I have an appointment with the neurologist on March 23,here in my area, I am looking to see a Chiari Specialist, after I see what this Nl says. I hope he at least informed about Chiari, if not I am prepared to go somewhere else.
Hello. The main reason for Chiari is a malformed posterior fossa or back of the skull. IMHO...it is possible that if you had issues with your bones not forming at your hip it could have done the same at the skull. Have you had MRI's of your spine to rule out a syrinx or a flow study? Have you seen a specialist for your Chiari?
I hope you find the answers that you seek.
