Huh?.....for all those that dye their hair~~~~

did u know that the baby shampoo that we r told to use after PFD can lighten the color of dyed hair???

I did not, and thought there was some other reason as to y my hair didn't seem to be holding the dye in certain areas...my DH found this tidbit....I was surprised and amazed.

How to Lighten Color-Treated Hair

Many women (and quite a few men) have boldly wandered down the hair coloring aisle and emerged with what they believe will be the perfect color for their hair. Of course, no matter how closely matched those tiny little acrylic hair samples are, they can never take into account the dozens of factors that make up your particular hair, including texture and overall health. Sometimes the warmest auburn dye can turn jet black no matter how closely you follow the directions. Luckily, there are some simple steps you can take to help lighten your newly color-treated hair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
Baby shampoo or lemon-scented dishwashing soap
Hot water
Your regular conditioner
Clarifying shampoo
Moisturizing conditioner
Step
1
Wash your hair three times with baby shampoo immediately after discovering that your color-treated hair came out darker than you expected. Though baby shampoo has an adjusted pH to avoid irritating eyes, the formula is actually relatively harsh because it has to battle serious grime like food, gum and anything else children may get in their hair. You can also use lemon scented dishwashing soap instead of baby shampoo.

SO this is a FYI to all that will want to cover grey hair or just want to color after PFD...expect to have issues with teh color......

Wow......I had no idea!!  I have my hair colored dark all the time to cover the slight "flaws" as I call them lol I will certainly remember this now if I ever am too dark and will remember it later once I have surgery!!  =)

Maybe so, I didn't expect this much gray at my age though. I have wondered that myself though about men and women. My older sister colors and colors and colors but at least she doesn't have to worry about baldness.

Not enough hair to dye anymore. Wife says every clipping takes less and less time with more and more gray. I tell her I"m taking it easy on God. The scriptures say he has the hairs numbered on our heads so I just toss out a few to take it easy on him. :-)
