Just diagnosed

I was recently diagnosed from a MRI done that i'm 8.5mm and i now have an appointment for a neurologist. I'm symptomatic and i wanna know hows the process? Whats next? Should i be alarmed?

  So a syrinx was ruled out for ur cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine?

U were also tested for ICP, POTS, sleep apnea, ehlers-danlos, ur thyroid is ok, and ur vitamin levels are all ok?

I have to disk about 2mm out of place

  I use to get awful headaches when I laughed....at times I still get one but nothing like b4 surgery.....

Do u know if u have ne of the related conditions I mentioned?

When I laugh,cough,sneeze its a total disaster I either get real dizzy and my head fills up with a lot of pressure. I put my head back because of the pain and after 3-4 min I'm ok again. There's days where I'm feeling nausea all day but this month I had about 4 light headaches where I have to hold on to something. I'm actually glad I now know that when people laugh thy don't get a huge headache afterwards.  If I run or jog etc I continue with this pressure in my head where I see all dark even though my eyes are open.

  Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

First, do not panic, and educate urself on ALL aspects of Chiari and related conditions,.....

U will want to research Drs to find a true Chiari specialist...one that will look for a CSF obstruction, a syrinx in all areas of ur spine, tethered cord, disk issues, ICP, POTS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome...vitamin issues....

May I ask what symptoms u r experiencing?
