Thanks for the visual Selma! It made me giggle! That actually sounds so comfy! My girls are the type that would insist on me doing the same thing if in that situation...only I know they would have taken them UGG boots and bling'd them out to make me feel better about having to wear them!  They are that way...one is already telling me to not worry about trying to wear heals,(p.s. I always refer to my 4 inches as my hooker shoes) as we will all be wearing our boots! We are country bumpkins, and tho I cant envision how were going to pull off that look, I know she will insist on it. This is from the girl that wore high top chucks to a military ball under her gown. Her sister and I spent 2 days hot setting svorsky(sp?) crystals all over them to bling them out!
Gotta love girls that take care of their Mommas!

I had to plan a wedding post op...not fun, and the day of the wedding my legs and feet were so swollen I had to wear UGG boots to the reception....not a good look, and no my dress did not cover them as I had a tea length dress on so I would not trip on the dress...lol...it is funny now,not so much then...

We can only do what we can do, and all that my DD cared about was I was able to be there with her and enjoy the day, my footwear did not bother her one bit : )

hmmmm....my frustration is similar to geebug!  I had to leave my job behind when my hubbys job relocated. The BEST JOB EVER!!!  Now almost a year later I have still not found a job that my new health issues will allow me to do. So frustrated! I cant do a lot, by could manage a part time job. Summers are hard, as hubbys work slows down, kids are home eating more, and with Az heat the electric bill sky rockets! Our oldest DD is entering her Senior year of HS and that comes with more expenses. She interviewed for her first job this weekend to help with her upcoming fees. That makes me feel useless, tho I know it is a great experience for her.  I have put off many medical issues due to lack of patient portion monies.
Sorry guys, I'm usually very upbeat and positive....just feeling the stress and could really use a good laugh to calm it all down again!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!!!

I know just how u feel....I am not young or childless, but I am not a senior just yet, and my DD is grown....but losing a job and being denied LTD leaves one wondering how to pay medical bills.

So I can so related with how u r feeling on that topic.

Selma, good luck!  I hope your vision improves.

I've got a small rant.  I'm really tired of slipping through the cracks.  There's plenty of help available for children, mothers, and seniors, but if you're young and childless like me, no one seems to care.  There are no programs for uninsured, unemployed adults.  My only hope is convincing them that I'm disabled, and that's hard to do you're obviously impaired.

I'm sure I'm starting to sound like a broken record.  It's just really frustrating.

@SilentSong.....I know what u mean, I have fallen off the invite list.....some just do not understand that we r not always up to socialize, and it may depend on the type of event that was planned....but, we can not go to everything, so some stop including us...I have one friend that says every time she sees my DH , tell her I will get together soon, and I send her notes saying I am here everyday all day just call......and I am still waiting....

I really think they have no idea and do not want to....it takes effort to understand others, and not everyone is willing or able to do that....

@Rahe- I am so glad the review  went so well, I hope u get a video of the dances she was in,,,,,she looked so cute in her costumes.

To both- I am glad to know I am not alone with the blurry vision....it is so odd for me to be dealing with it over a long period of time....2 weeks....this is the longest I have had an issue post op....and was getting concerned.

Thanks for letting me know u both r dealing with this too.

Ill rant for a moment...Im finding people very unreliable these days and its just completely frustrating, and making me feel very undervalued. I keep having friends disappear off the face of the planet, cancel plans (multiple times), ignore messages...its very disheartening.

I understand that the fact that I just had brain surgery may freak some people out....I really do, but someone says they are going to do something, or visit, or heck even talk to you and then something comes up or something, they should at least make an effort to communicate that.

Also my vision is blurry.

Thank you all very much. I tried to be nice to her, but she is young. She is only 22. I am 28,  but she doesnt act like she is 22, more like she is 16..lol. True Selma, no good deed goes  unpunished. Selma, ever sicnce the rain started this last week,.,,,my eyes have been so blurry. So, who knows...it may be just us..lol.

I have spent today trying to get everything all cleaned up. The review plus house guest meant NOTHING was cleaned all weekend. However, my DD did amazing in her review. She even smile the whole time and      she even pointed her little  toes and for a three year old, that is alot. Not to mention  she remembered her  whole dance. BOth of them.
Drew- can't imagine someone livingout of my pantry....geesh

We must have posted at the same time and I walked away and did not see ur post until now....

OMG- the saying  that no good deed goes unpunished is very true...yikes!

How unappreciative , she must be either young, or very immature....there r soooo many that feel they r owed more and need not do nething in return,.....this explains many but I will not get on a political soapbox.....

I am sorry this happened to u, and ur family...u did not deserve this...and that couple have no idea how good a friends they just threw away.

You can rant all you want. I had neighbour like that girl you're talking about. I was nice enouf to lend/give her some food once and after that she was trying to live out of my pantry!!! It's best not to listen to her no-sense and (in my case it worked) close your door on her!

So sorry you had to deal with this at this time. I hope your surgery will be a success. :)

I do not like the storms either...when I hear it rumbling I shut my comp down.....and wait for it to pass....

Has ne one else had a change in vision lately, or is it just me,....I guess I need to find a good eye Dr to find out what is going on....this is new for it to keep  going, but the rain keeps coming so I am assuming it is the rain, and yes, I know about assume..."shutters"....so I know I have to do something, just wondering if neone else is dealing with this too.

Well, it didn't just rain here...it monsooned !! FOr a couple of days...yet it was still 99 degrees here. It messed with my vision, myhead, and well my home.  LEt me explain. My DH recieceved a call in the middle of the night Thursday from one of his employess letting him know that she would not be at work the next day, because here and her husband had gotten into a fight and she was now walking in the rain. Well, both of us have huge hearts and an hour later when nobody else offered her a dry place....my DH went to pick her assuming that she would be here for a night and the next day and then her and her husband would make up....boy were we wrong. No...she just left last night, and that was only because my DH told her to get dressed and he would bring her to work. She and her husband had made up and she proceeded to tell him that they were going to stay with us until they found anpother place. WHAT??? We do NOT have the room for that, I have a 3 BR house, and three children plus us already....there is no room...not tpo mention that I am having surgery thursday and she knows that I have San, and my dad coming in. I have no idea why she told her hubby that, but apparently she did. Then she told her hubby that I told Rob (my DH) to kick her out because I thought they were sleeping together...WHAT !!!!! Not true....I felt sorry for the girl, and when we picked her up and  gave her a warm place to stay we told her that it could only be for a few days, because I was having surgery. Well, I probably would not have minded her staying another night...but she refused to pick up after herself. She would just lye on the couch all day, and leave her mess for me to clean. I am used to cleaning up after others, but for someone to not even offfer to help seeing how I feel., and then expecting me to clean up after her as well. I mean she wouldn't even go take a bath....and I asked her to many times. It is just insane. There was nothing but a bunch of drama the whole time she was here...and I just cannot handle that anymore. She should understand...instead she is mad  and acts like we "kicked" her out. We did not. We told her that by Sunday, she would need to have somewhere else to stay. Her and her DH have made up/ She should be going home. OOOOH....the nerve of some people !! Trying to be the nice people we get kicked in the face. Anyway, thanks for allowing me to rant...I really needed to let that out. I know, I know, I always write books...lol

I'm not a fan of the rain either.  It seems to make the pressure in my head worse, among other things.  We had a big storm last night that kept me up late.  I don't mind them so much, but I hate when it storms during the night.

I agree... my rant will also be about all this rain and cold.  I had to turn my heat back on yesterday!  This is horrible!!!  Recovering from my shunt revision and I am stuck in the house... can't walk outside, can't sit on my deck... it is just stinky :)  Bad enough hurting and being bored but add rain and cold to that and it just makes me cranky! -zygy
