Hi and welcome...as Lizzy and Pam have both mentioned a syrinx can be located newhere in the spine...a NS and or NL that r not true chiari specialists will only check the cervical spine as most of the outdated info states that most r located there....
But, we have many members with a syrinx in the thoracic and lumbar area of their spine and that is y Lizzy and Pam suggest u get a full spine MRI.
Doing so will also rule out bulging disk issues as well as tethered cord.

a syrinx can be anywhere in the spine, but as pam said, they are most common in the c-spine. you need a full spinal mri.
good luck and happy holiday!

Hello and happy holidays to you as well. I am not sure what orbitz means? But in order to see if you have a syrinx they will need to MRI your spine. Most occur in the C-spine but it is possible to get one in the thoracic as well. I would ask for an MRI of your spine to be sure. Hope this helps.
