Question about chiari and overcrowding

So I have been having awful head pain and migraines. Then I started missing my vision, having blury vision, loss of balance, concentration issues, memory issues, ringing of the ears, and more. I had chiari noted an an MRI but the neurons said it wasn't causing the issues. I went to the Wisconsin  chiari center and the did a lot of testing including  checking the flow. They said I definitely  have chiari but my flow is fine. They said the overcrowding was causing the symptoms  and that surgery  could reduce symptoms  but I would still have migraines. My question is I thought the flow was what  caused the symptoms.  Could it just be an over crowding issue? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

A CSF obstruction is not the only cause of symptoms but is one of the more common reasons.....

Over crowding and a retroflexed odontoid as well as a kinked brain stem are a few others as well as related conditions like tethered cord, ICP, POTS and Ehlers-Danlos all have the same or similar symptoms.

Get a few opinions and make sure ALL related conditions are ruled out.

I should add the over crowding he point out was towards the top right and he measured the herination at 7.5 mm.
