Stress Test/ Head pain

Has anyone out there had a Stress Test before deciding on Surgery?  I would like to make sure my heart is in good shape before having brain surgery as there are some issues in my family.  I am wondering if anyone else has had this and anticipating it will be very painful as I can hardly walk up a flight of stairs now w/o an increase in skull presssure.

I haven't had surgery, but am a canidate. I had to have nuclear stress test. But I also had open heart surgery at 14, and.have a leak in valve. My ekgs are abnormal. Never hurts.to.get one!

I had the stress test done before my surgery.  I could not cross the street without getting out of breath and having chest pain.  I was unable to complete the test on the treadmill so they gave me drugs to increase my heart rate so that I could complete the test.  You can ask them about it before you have the test.

  Hi...yup...and a Echocardiograhm....(sp?)

  A chest x-ray was also done...and blood labs...all requested by my NS and PCP....

They do other testing like the echo and can determine if the stress test is necessary...

After my Echo I was told the stress test was not needed.
