What to take for nausea

I have been so sick to my stomach. My mouth is watering and I REALLY dont want to puke. Besides not being a puker, I dont want my head to hurt anymore than it already is. Hot tea helps for like a half hour, but then it comes back. I know, I know...if the tea works, then keep drinking it. The Diamox that I am on practically has me sitting on the toilet as it is. No more liquids for me...lol.
I have tried Pepcid and Prilosec. Neither is working.
The Husband is going to go to town. Any suggestion????
Thanks so much,
Dani

try companzine...or zofran (the ones that dissolve in your mouth work best...faster acting)...or phengram....all are prescription strength but they work.

OTC is ginger ale.

looks like we all do the same remedies....

oh yah, i mix benedryl with zofran or compazine and that works too.

Thank you all so much for the great ideas. The hubby bought me the Walmart Emitrol. Nasty stuff but it works. Also been drinking some ginger ale....but for me it also needs to be watered down.
Oh....and I have done the not eating thing too....lol....hence the weight loss. Which I totally needed.
Thanks for the bs and the lem idea. My hubby and both my kids have acid reflux. We will try this.
Thank you guys so much.

phenergan at the dr.

Also, I found out when I was pregnant that using children's toothpaste helped with morning sickness. You could use that if brushing your teeth when sick. My dentist prescribed me with Floride toothpaste last year, that helps too.

Sucking on cinnamon sticks helps me too.

Good luck.

I just don't eat...LOL..bad I know but that's usually what I do when I feel like that...

Sometimes gingerale..watered down helps with me...other than that I haven't been really successful other than trying some antacids if that is the problem.

I'm really sorry you are feeling so sick...it really does get better :)

If you can't wait for a perscription my pharmacist told me that dramamine works just like perscription phenergan. I had always taken Phen. but was out one time on a weekend and needed something and that is when I found dramamine. Some people it will make sleepy but you can also get Bonine, it is not sopposed to. Hope this helps.

It's awful feeling sick.....I'm sorry.

Hey great idea about the baking soda- i will try it with my daughter. She has had/has severe reflux that she had surgery for when she was a baby- had a nissen (when they tie the top of your stomach around the bottom of your esophagous- to prevent stomach acid going up and 50% of her formula was going into her lungs- almost suffocated her :(

ANYWAY! LOL - since she has obviously grown, it has stretched out a bit, and some of her reflux is bothering her. I can't stand the thought of her taking RX meds at this point in her life, for the rest of her life- so thanks for posting that!

(have ya'll noticed I talk too much? LOL)

My doc put me on phenergan (generic is promethazine) which helps ALOT for nausea ...if you cant get the prescription help then what the others posted will definitely help...ginger is a natural stomach cleanser ...I personally like Gari, or sushi ginger  :)

An OTC med used by an ole stage manager of mine (worked in theater before the dreaded Chiari hit) was called Emetrol... it fixed up many a nauseated dancer and actor prior to curtain :)

I know this last one isn't for nausea but it works so well and is completely holistic...I thought I would post it too :)

For upset or sour tummies my Great granny's (she's doing fine age 96!!)  remedy works GREAT!  It sounds weird but if you think about stomach acids and alkalines then it makes perfect sense... in about 1 cup to 3/4 cup of lemonade add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon baking soda ... stir ...it will fizz up...drink after the fizzing stops :)    (this has saved my fanny from some hectic heartburn nights!)

Best of luck to you sweetheart...

I'm sorry this took so long! I've been tryin to log on for almost an hour - stupid phone! Anyway, if hubby goes back to town get Emitrol or the walmart generic version just says Anti Nausea Medicine its a liquid but follow the directions and it usually works! Also, if you by chance have any Toradol (prescription usually given as a muscle relaxer but also helps with nausea) You may also wanna call your dr tomorrow and see if they can get you a script for phenegran or zophram. Other than that ginger ale and crackers. Hope its better soon honey! (((Hugs))) Shannon
