Why is there a plane-like sound in my ear?

I was about to go to bed, and I looked at the corner of my room. I heard a click in my ear, then a plane- (like its about to take off) sound was in my ear. I look down, I get a sharp pain, a click, then it's gone?

?!?!
What is this? It really hurts and it scares me. Please help!

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum,

When were you DX'd with Chiari?....Have you had surgery?

There are numerous reasons for sounds like this to happen....it all depends on your DX.

I always described the tinnitus (it was/is/always has been only in my left ear) as a plane- sometimes a jet 747 roar or  at times the high pitch sound, but usually more of a roar. I wish I could "click" it off..
It is scary! And it *****!
Is this a new symptom? 1st time it's ever happened?
