Hi All,
Can you have a syrinx anywhere within the spinal cord? Is this why everyone reccomends getting a full spine MRI? Ds only had brain MRI to check flow.
I am reading the Chiari syrngomyelia handbook, and I think what I am understanding is that you can have a syrinx that is causing symptoms same as Chiari. YOu can have Chiari alone or Syrngomyelia alone or have them together. So much to take in when you don't have a medical degree.
DS has only gone one day out of the past 19 without HAs and is not sleeping much at all. I am still waiting for Dr. Frim's response, but I have made an appointment with pcp, and I want to be well prepared as they are in the 5mm club, and in this book it specifically states that you can have Chiari symptoms below 5mm. I am highlighting all pertinant info and taking this into her.I just want some relief for my boy. He comes in from school just dragging, and it is heart wrenching to see him in this condition. I don't know what to give him for the HAs anymore as he is already taking the max dose of motrin for his age.School has been a big stresser for him, but we have to get through this trimester then we will start homeschool again. Sorry, ranting again, I just want to be clear on my info before I go. As always, thanks for listening
Barb :)
