Imitrex is working great for me! I was battling with this horrible! I was miserable! I still am working on getting the neck muscles to stop trigger the head pressure. I keep a diary and have pin pointed that my neck is the root cause of my pain!
I have so much pressure I feel like my head is going to push through my ears! If the imitrex does not work they put me on prendisone. I have even gone on infusion treatments. Where I go to the hospital and get hooked up to iv every morning for 3 days! This works!
It's a different form of migraine, triggered from the surgery. For me anyway, could be for you too. Keeping a diary has helped me find this! But rest and such didn't work for me. I needed the imitrex, if I didn't catch in time I had to have the round of steroids.
Because my neck is the root cause of this we are working on getting the insurance to approve botox for my neck to shut down those nerves!
Hello
That's a tough one because I often wish that someone could give me the golden answer too. The best thing I find when the tightness is really bad is to lie down and really relax into a semi-sleep state. I know that sounds weird but my body doesn't really relax until I really let go of everything. Sometimes, I will get into a warm bath and lie with my head and neck in the water which helps some. Still I find the key is when the tightness is there the only way to relieve it is to give your body a rest because usually it is a result of a weak neck trying to support your head.
As for the passing out feeling, all I can do is to avoid bending up and down and straining myself. Not always a possibility though...
