My story might be a little different because I did not have a lot of pain before surgery. I got my surgery because of my syrinx. Throughout my hospital stay my pain level was 0-1 at most. They give you meds at scheduled times to make sure that you are comfortable. I am 8 days post op. I felt back to normal before I left the hospital! Just I have to take it a bit easier and walk a bit slower or else I will feel some pressure in my head. Good luck to you! You will feel much better afterwards.

I just had surgery Thursday.  I have written in my journal.  Dr Oro was wonderful at finding the right meds for me prior to Lea ing the hospital.  The pain is different than pre op and I am running a 2-3.  I am so blessed so far I am doing wonderful.  The biggest thing I have noticed is if it is not time for meds and I am getting uncomfortable I need to sleep.  You will read over and over to sleep:)

Hi...most of us to avoid repeating our stories over and over have posted  our info in our journals, so it is easy to locate...just move the mouse over our name and click, this takes u to our profile page and u can read our journal.

As for the info for the hospital, we have the Health Pages, if u scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the  link u will have access to all the info stored there....I encourage u to look at the Health Pages as I try to add info that is helpful and easy to locate.

We have had a lot of people who just recently had surgery and I'm sure they will reassure you every thing will be o.k.  Selma had a thread on here to shrare what you should need in the hospital.  As for the pain every one is different, going in with a positive outlook does help a lot, and I also want to say you have a lot of us who are here with good positive thoughts that everything will go well for you.  I have you in my Chairian prayer's.  After surgery something to look forward to.  You will be in the Zipperhead club Best of luck.
Linda :)
