I jut left a nice long post, but it erased. I decided on staying. The pt came is said I was pretty strong and was surprised at how flexible my neck was. I did not get the titanium plate Vicky. I have been walking every hour, still a little dizzy burt did get to take a shower and wash(sorta) my hair. I did have a couple coughing spells that weren't fun and left me screaming, literally. Sorry for all the updates. I am bored out of my mind.
If you think you should stay that extra day - do it. I left on the sixth day, and for me, that was the right amount of time. Of course, it took me 4 days to get on my feet due to the nausea. They must have the meds just right for you - that's nice. Is your system functioning the way it's "supposed to"? (ah... incoming & outgoing?)

HI Tia....yes u r still a Zipperhead..as I got glue and sterri strips too!!!
I did have one stitch where my drain was, other than that no stitches, no staples.....but I consider myself a zipperhead : )
I would want to know what PT have they done with u in hospital since they r offering to send u home?...how much walking have u done?....and how about moving ur neck?
I am happy to hear the pain is being managed with meds....I was well under control pain wise when I was sent home , but it was day 5...I was in ICU for 2.5 days.....
Listen to ur body....and go slowly...no bending, even to pick up a tissue, and no lifting, and last move ur neck.....slowly, but move it.

Hi there.
I think you need to stay one more day. Have you moved around and how does that feel? I stayed five days as I was so dizzy I couldn't walk. Please take it easy as the drugs can mask how painful it is. I am glad you are doing well, that is awesome. Did you get the titanium plate? How is you neck? I have been thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. Vicky
