saw NS ... he still an a** been discharged

Saw my NS ( supposed chiari specialist ) and as soon as said I didnt want surgery he wouldnt answer anymore of my questions lol...... what an a**

Basically said restriction behind the herniation. No signs of syrinx in neck area.... he didnt do whole spine..
He thinks my vision problems are from migraines... yea like none of us have heard that.

He said if ever want to do surgery to be referred back to him... not a chance would I let this man cutmy head open. He is so rude and arrogant..

But i still dont plan on getting surgery unless real  necessary as he said I have no complications yet and may never get them :/

Oh and the nl I was suppose to see is retiring. So I made my appointment next year to see an unknown as of yet. Hope they are knowledgable of chiari !
Fingers crossed I never need surgery anyway
Hope u are all keeping well today :)

So sorry....but most NS's will offer surgery if they feel the benefits out weight the risks....but they should be able to answer questions etc....

There is no way to know who or how the trust compiles the names for their list....it may be just NA's familiar with Chiari...so not a true specialist....??

If u want to PM me, mayb we can remove the name from the list as one that u do not feel is a specialist...that is up to u,

Think next time ill look for a specialist in london. Even if it means traveling 260 miles

This is quite typical of surgeons, if u say u do not want their service they can not do much more for u.....they may be chiari specialists, but the way they treat is with surgery...some will suggest PT or meds to see what all is going on and how ur body reacts.

Not sure what questions u have, but u may want to ask a NL that is well experienced with Chiari....

Mayb some of us here can help.
