stung by wasp.....

as if i didnt have enough issues on sun afternoon i sat on my couch and was immediatly stung by a wasp on my thigh. holy cow did it and does it hurt. i right away made a baking soda paste and iced it. it just kept swelling. so bytues it was 4 times the size , so i wound up at dr. he said oh my goodness as soon as he walked in the door. he checked for stinger but didnt find one. thank god i didnt want him digging it out, ouch! so he perscribed me steroids but since im so close to surgery date i cant take anything. so i bought spray benydril and ice it. today its not as red and hot but its starting to bruise where the swelling is. ive never ever had a reaction like this. i had to sleep with ice on it just to fall asleep. it actually made my whole leg feel like a tooth ache... whats scary is my gma is 85 years old, works in her garden her whole life, so shes been stung numerous times. a few months ago she was stung and went into anphalactic shock. so out of nowhere became allergic to bees after 80 some years, crazy huh. well dr says to stay away from bees,lol. its not like i said come here bee and sting me. its still pretty big and swollen and really annoying. just had to vent about it. something other than  chiari for a change lol

my surgery will go on, right?! they wont cancel it cause a reaction to wasp sting, will they?

Wasps are nasty; they sting AND bite!  Mean too, that it stalked you in your own house.


That is scary about your Gma.  I'm around bees all the time too.

So sorry to hear  you got stung, but happy that it is getting  better.  See you wanted a distraction from surgery.  You got it. (Sting). LOL.... Hope your have a bee free day.
