I'm so glad you like him and have answers now. It's half the battle of it all..and it's such a big battle.
Now for the nerve block treatment, do you have to travel to him, how does this work? What will they do for the nerve block treament exactly and how long will it take to know if it's working?
I am so glad that it was worth your time. Let me know if you have questions about neuralgia. The nerve block is more diagnostic than treatment but does help some didn't me,i chose another route that is working. How ru feeling with all of this and what is ur next step. Praying that this is first step to relief..take care friend.
It was validation of , yes this is y u r in pain that helps so much even when it is not good news as CW mentioned...we all know this feeling and it is wonderful u were able to get to Dr O....he is truly a Dr that understands all of this.
Do keep us posted on the next course of action : )
Most Doctors do not use a plate and if I am understanding correctly she did not have a duraplasty so no patch of any kind would be used. Dr Oro uses a mesh plate he designed to attach the muscles to which would have helped in her particular muscle situation. (that is why he does them) The mesh plate does not crowd the tonsils which is very important since that would cause additional chiari problems it just gives the muscles somewhere to be sewn so they are more like they were before.
Funny how answers even when they aren't good news, just answers for 'why' we feel the way we do, brings a strange comfort.
I'm glad to hear you at least have a plan. Hope the first plan works out for you, that would be nice.
BTW- thanks for the update
CW
just pm u!!! thanks for ur updated...honestly I was expecting this answer in some kind of way...in our next life honey we get a specialist first :-)) relax at home for Eastern...glad u made it through!!!hugs
I have been thinking of you every day and wondering what the results were. At least now you have some answer's and you knew something wasn't right. I have never heard of a stimulator in the back of the head. Will you have to go back to him to have this done? I'm just so happy for you that now you can get this taken care of. I also don't understand about not having the dura or something as a plate in the back of the head when the NS had you in surgery. What would be holding up your tonsils if they didn't put something in there to hold it up. Interesting. Keep us updated. It was nice to hear from you.
Linda :)
Congratulations ! He does sound wonderful . I am so happy that you have some answers and a plan :) If my insurance was accepted, I would have gone to see him, I am stil happy with DR. Tender though...he is as well ...amazing. After my MRI's. He is going agreed to meet with me, my hubby, my dad, and my person (like a mother) to discauss surgery and answer any questions they have ! Not many drs would agree to that.
Just so glad that you got in to see him !!! I am happy that you have a course of action :) My best wishes for you ~
I am so glad you got answers and yes he is so nice and own to earth:). I don't understand why partial binet decompressions are done on adults as it appears that a second surgery is needed too often! I am so glad you now have a plan of action!
He recomend surgery to open dura, put in plate and repair my muscles but hes afraid of damaging my nerves more by goin in again. So first im gonna try nerve blocks. If they work i will have the nerve stimulator implanted. And if they dont work at all then we schedule the surgery with dr oro.
