4year old sever head banging and throwing self down

i was just wondering on if i should have my 4 year old daughter checked out for any disorders or if its just a thing shes going through.  since the day we brought her home all she did was cry and cry, not sleep and now as she gets older , all she still does is cry and cry, throws her self down on any floor type and hits her head exstremly hard. she never really feels any pain, but her feelings are hurt very easily, and really is not affectionate , she still has trouble sleeping at night, and then wants to sleep all day,  so i was just wondering if anyone can help me figure out what to do.  its so bad i have migraines and i am just really worried that something is wrong with her, is it autistic of some sort or something else?

Hi.  Some kids are more difficult than others and require so much patience. Lucky you-------- you have one of those.  LOL  I do to------ so you are not alone.

Some kids have a very difficult time self soothing.  You mention a few other things that really stand out to me as being issues with her nervous system and ability to process things.  Her disliking being touched and not really feeling pain when she does something that should hurt---------- both sound like they might be part of the tactile system which is part of our sensory system.  Tactile defensiveness is when someone doesn't want to be touched (often they also dislike tags in clothes, seams in socks, etc. as well) and then under responsivity to touch.  Sensory issues can be so confusing because these two opposite problems can exist together.

How is your child's speech?  How is her fine motor skills?  Does she use scissors alright, like to color, etc?

Autism almost always involves issues with speech.  Even high functioning autism such as aspergers have distinct speech patterns that are unlike "typical" kids.  Holding conversations is difficult for example as pragmatic conversation is lacking.  And the farther down the spectrum of autism you go, the more severe the speech issues.  Autism also shows itself in the way kids play.  They have trouble pretending, for example.  Social skills deficits are always present as well.  How is your daughter's eye contact?

Please google sensory integration disorder as it sounds more like a nervous system issue to me.  My son did bang his head and was difficult to console.  He does occupational therapy and has been given ways to cope and is doing fantastic.  If you google sensory integration disorder and you think it fits at all----------  I have many suggestions for you.  So look that up and get back to us.

Autistic come to mind. I wuold get her checked out that's for sure. I mean my son went through a phase where he banged his head if he didn''t get his way. BUT NOT ALL the time. And it seems like you've had problems from the get go. Talk to a doctor.
