6month old refusing sleep

My 6 month old has gone back to fighting day time sleeps. When he was 4-5 months old he was only doing 15 min cat naps after being fed to sleep. We got on a sleep nurse for help and managed to have a few weeks of decent day time sleeps. But for the past week he has gone back to fighting sleep. He can spend 1-2 hours in his cot wide awake. I only go in if he is distressed and even then I wait for 2 mins of crying first. Oh and he usually stays up for 2 hours between day time sleeps.

Is this a normal phase for this age? Should I do something different? How long does it usually last? Or is he possibly just not much of a sleeper?

I really appreciate your advice.

At 6 months they do start to be awake for longer stretches.  My son at that age would take an hour to two hour morning nap, then again late afternoon.  I found that lots of fresh air really made a difference, and weather permitting would take him for a nice walk prior to nap time.  Still works actually..lol.  I would say it's a normal stage in his development.  Unless he is getting overtired and cranky I wouldn't worry too much.  I think they are probably all a bit different.

At 6 months my son didn't sleep much durring the day. He wanted to be awake and was very happy and content. He would doze for about 10 minutes after feeding at lunch time and about an hour around 3:00. He slept through the night from 9pm to about 6:30am. His pedi said this was fine as he was eating and growing and reaching and surpassing his milestones. I think babies are all different and you just have to find what works for you. I never "forced" daytime sleeping and let him sleep when he was tired.  Good luck to you (:

My last comment was because I'm wondering if he's too active too sleep during the day? He also is very difficult to bf unless it's quiet...

Oh he is otherwise a placid, happy, very alert
Baby. I think (naturally I'm biased mum) that he is very intelligent. He is already waving goodbye - is that just a 6 month milestone?
