2 yr old potty trained refuses to poop

My son (who is 2) for the past 3 weeks he holds his poop for 3 days at a time then goes when he almost explodes after normally 9 hrs of running on his toes, asking for a nappy, then ripping it off, asking for a nappy again, then once again ripping it off... the poop is dribbling out so he's not constipated. He's been fully potty trained for the past 3 mths (but never pooped in the potty) and used to always go poop in his nappy first thing when he woke in the morning or while he slept, three weeks ago this stopped and now this.. PLEASE HELP its so hard to see him like this, and frustrating not knowing how to help!!

Some kids do hold in the poop and ignore the need to go.  My son did not to go regularly in the potty until age 4.5.  It's hard for little boys to learn this.  I woul dnot stress about it with him, it might make him hold it in more. It's a control factor too.

What's different in his diet?  It sounds like he has the runs, and you need to figure out if he has some kind of bug or if he's eating something new that is doing this.
