Is it normal for my 9 month old daughter to masterbate in her car seat or rocker?

I'm pretty sure my 9 month old daughter is masturbating in her car seat or anywhere with straps in between her legs. Is this normal and what should I do?

My daughter is 9 mo old and the second I put her in her high chair or exersaucer she squeezes and squirms around and gets very frustrated! I'm telling my hubby that she's masturbating and he thinks I'm crazy..we have a 7 yr old daughter and she did it as a baby but not as much as my 9 mo old. Any advice? I know I'm not crazy! Lol

Totally normal. I know you posted this a year ago but my sister and I have just been talking about our 2 1/2 year old daughter's and how they both do it and have been doing it since they were under a year old. Its normal and they do it because it feels good but makes us parents a little squeamish!

It's not uncommon for even babies to masturbate.  You could google "masturbation" and "babies" and you'll find a lot of medical / scientific stuff that confirms it.  I don't know that you will be able to stop her.  When she gets bigger, you can tell her that it is something she can only do when alone in her room.

I dont think she is masterbating, the straps probably just push her diaper up and its uncomfortably.
