my daughter age 6 has a voice in her head

tToday my six year old daughter told me that she has a voice in her head which tells her to say very bad things to her sister who is eleven months, things like she smells and she isnt nice, and to lift her when she knows she shouldnt, she says the voice makes her think her dad isnt nice, when she herself thinks hes the best, there has been nothing toward me as yet but she says that she thinks of us dying all the time and doesnt want that to happen. The worst thing happened today when she was just sitting beside me at home and said she might kill herself, i asked her where this had come from and she said the voice inside her head i dont know what to do i am so distraught right now i dont know what to do please help me, is this just for attention or something far worse.

I would take her the doctor immediately.  She may be having auditory hallucinations or it may be a psychological problem.  Take her ASAP!!

This reminds me of an article I read recently on bipolar disorder in children.  The boy in the article also had a voice in his head telling him similar things.  Even if this ends up being your daughter's way of getting attention (particularly with a new baby in the house), it is always better to be safe than sorry.  I would suggest contacting her doctor right away.  Good luck!

Please take here to her doctor and tell him as soon as possible. Tell her the devil tells us bad things like that and we shouldn't ever listen to him. I'm not a 'religious' finatic either. Peditricians are very good in knowing where to go with a small person. What kind of movies and cartoons has she been watching? Whatch with her. And even some of the 'in' cartoons are made up with discussting stuff. May she can give you an idea of where she came up with the ideas. I have an 8 yr. old who "would rather be dead" due to alot of bullying and stress. We are dealing with it as this is NOT a normal feeling in children.
