Try an activity that you all can play when they are getting to roudy.  Like the wii games they are alot of fun or monopoly. As far as thru the weekday try getting on their level eye to eye and tell them in a calm manner. When you start getting frustrated take a few minutes walk of and breath then deal with it

sorry, they are 6 and 7 year old boys. We live in alaska so this time of year out door activities are limited. my 6 year old is an ex 25 week micro premmie. He has behavior problems to say the least. Im exhausted and out of ideas. I dont want to hit. I have suddenly realized that I sound like a raving yelling lunatic.... I need ideas.

Speak very quietly,  and stop when they stop listening.  That doesn't sound like it would work,  but walk into a kindergarten class.  When the class gets unruly,  the teacher stops talking,  or lowers her voice.   *one two three,  eyes on me*

I wouldn't have believed this,  but I had laryngitis and I couldn't talk,  and the kids had to be quiet to listen to me.  It worked.  Of course,  after I was well again I went right back to hollering.  ;D
