CFS? Nobody knows :(

Seven yrs ago, my son, now 21 felt very weak in his legs and to this day is still unable to walk without locking his knees back to keep from falling, and can only walk 20 metres maximum without collapsing.  He has had numerous tests carried out ie., blood, muscles, nerves and no evidence of any condition.  There is no swelling anywhere, just fatigue, weak upper legs with uncontrollable shaking and sensitive to touch knee area.

I'm open to ANY comments.  My heart aches.  There is nothing I can do, other than watch him suffer.

So many illnesses, most of them can be diagnosed IF you find the right doctor. I was first diagnosed wit CFS 20 years ago, then about 4 years ago, Fibromyalgia.
Gas your son seen a rheumatologist? That how they determined the Fibromyalgia. I got lucky with the CFS, almost impossible to find a doctor who knows about it. A cancer doctor took interest in it because his nurse developed CFS. I might advice you to go to a forum for CFS. Talk to some of those people who have it. If it is CFS, you'll get a LOT of good first hand knowledge and advice.
I can tell you that a good night sleep helps. I started out with muscle relaxants then moved to Ambien to make sure the mind and body actually REST while it's asleep.

Hi keepsearching.
Have you ruled out deficiencies, like vitamin D3, Methylocobalamin B12
(NOT Cobalamin B12), tissue magnesium (NOT blood levels),potassium etc ?
Also his electrolytes must be in the proper amount and ratios: Sodium/Potassium and more importantly Calcium/Magnesium.

I would also recommend he tries a gelatin supplementation for 30 days
(5 grams/75ml water daily) or free range bone broth (from slow boiling beef bones for 48 hours).
I understand there's an issue with sun-exposure in Australia so vitamin D3
deficiency might be an issue. Also beware of vitamin D3 resistance, where
normal labs are meaningless. In such cases mega doses of D3 are the only option.
He might need to do physiotherapy in order to maintain muscle tone, otherwise his muscles will atrophy completely.
Coconut oil may also be helpful as it has many medicinal properties
and may tame any low grade underlying infectious conditions which may be hiding in the tissues (also in the synovial fluid)  and if used in cooking in place of cooking oils, it helps reduce inflammation (coconut oil does not degrade in high temperatures to cause oxidation)

Hope this helps.
