Yes, his blood results and urine analysis came back better than ever.
However, I am rather down as Oliver’s health has declined over the last two weeks.
He has a vet appointment on Friday.
First of all Oliver has dry eyes, and cataracts. When he was to be treated for the cataracts he went into kidney failure in 2014…so the main focus was his kidney condition.
Well, about a week in a half ago, he was in agonizing pain and I rushed him to the emergency vet where he ended up staying overnight. They gave him IV fluids and was in an oxygen incubator. He made it……a few days prior to that he suffered colitis for a few days and was given medication. Then the following week he bumped into something in my office…..which resulted in an ulcerated penetration wound to the eye. I’ve been putting drops in this eye. There may be a possibility he may lose the eye but I will know more on Friday when he is checked further. He has had so much trauma in such a short period. He has also lost weight and his balance is really off. I have to help me with everything. He continues to eat and drink which is good….but I am extremely worried and I honestly don’t want him going through anymore hospitalization. He sleeps well and still communicates with me when he wants food or water.
Hi Elsa. Great news. Given Ollie's age, it is even more inspiring.
Tony
Oliver's blood results were excellent :)
I figured it out...I had to update my password. Again thank you for the compliment. I sent you a note earlier. :)
I just read your entire correspondence (I'm new) and I want to say that you are the Miracle DogMom! What a caring and attentive person Oliver has to live his dog life with. He is a lucky dog :-).
Yes, I am very pleased with Oliver's numbers. Dr. Schultz said that Oliver is holding is own, He goes back again in September for a recheck.
Overall, his appetite and water intake is great. Oliver's eyesight has been diminishing over the years, He is very lucky to have me carry him every where. His vision consists of seeing shadows but he gets around ok with my guidance. At 16 years young he sleeps a lot but manages to eat at least five little meals a day. He is one amazing little maltese.
