Do you know any home made ways to get rid of flu?

Hi!
I have a flu. Everyday it's getting worse. My doctor told me to take a lot of pills, but truthly saying I don't like using any drugs. Maybe you know some good ways of flu treatment that I can make by my self at home?

I second what the others said and want to add, take zinc everyday while you have the flu. One 50mg of Zinc. It will cut the time you are sick. ALWAYS take zinc after you eat. It can make your stomach nauseous if you take it on an empty stomach. Take it during your time with the flu and a few days after you are well, just to make sure it won't come back. Also drink plenty of water. Water will pour the toxins out of you. Take vitamin D3. It helps too.

If you feel the flu going deep into your lungs, get to the doctor because that can mean pneumonia. Build your body back up by taking vitamins and eat well. Your body needs nutrition to rebuild itself and stay away from junk foods.

With the flu,...in my experience,....you just gotta "ride it out".....don't try to do anything but lay around in your snuggly pajamas and rest....take some aspirin for your fever, try to keep hydrated with water and juices or 7-up (not sprite).....and when you feel up to eating something,....THE BEST thing is chicken noodle soup,...or cream of chicken soup.....there's something magical in that broth. Hope this helps......oh,...you'll probably feel like crap about 5 days or more......that's ok though,....just rest...

If you caught it within the first 48 hours you could take Tamiflu and it lessens the symptoms and duration.  Is that what they gave you?
