Hello, I am not sure this is right section for this question, but I guess its the most relevant since I couldn't find one for sore throats. I have been having a bit of phlegm build up in my throat for a while now, almost three weeks. I have been drinking 2 litres of water per day, gargling water with baking soda, hot tea. I have not had any recent allergies, barely a bit of snot because of the cold (im in the southern hemisphere). I smoke one or two cigarrettes per day at a maximum. I actually feel a prickling feeling in my throat, as if a bit of the tissue might actually be damaged, but only slightly. I did have a hangover over a month ago where I vomitted quiet a lot and my throat felt like it was burning, but the pain did not linger. I guess that tissue damage must be the source of the phlegm, since the body creates mucus to protect it from further injury, right?
What can I do to ease the damaged tissue, or at least control the phlegm?
Thank you for your time!!
Ralph
